The grandkids were here for a long weekend, along with their parents. It was so good to see them. We played boardgames, painted, colored, baked cookies, cooked applesauce, visited the train museum to play with the trains in the kid section, discovered a wonderful playground in Warriors Path State Park, hung out clothes, and planted peas. And a good time was had by all!

Helped set up the Bali Breezes storyboard at work and added my table runner. This is the table runner that led to the lap quilt I posted yesterday.

The fire is roaring the in basement woodstove and I've setteled in for a day of sewing. I just finished sewing together 36 more blocks of the Bali Breezes pattern for the Marti and Me March sample. It's up on the design wall and looking good. So, I just had to share a picture with all of you. The Diagonal Set Triangle Ruler made it easy to cut the triangles for the half-square triangle blocks.

The hexagon topper for the round table is on the quilting machine. Yeah. I didn't want to cut off any of the hexagons to make a straight edge around the outside so it would be easier to bind. So, I purchased Set G of Marti Michell's Perfect Patchwork Templates. They work with the rubber stamp hexagon I used for the top. G44a is the setting triangle for the outside edge. It worked great!

FYI: Tn Quilts has all of Marti Michell's products 15% off when you join the Marti and Me club. You also get a free $8 pattern each month.

I am also understanding why long arm quilters like to have the batting and backing no less than four inches larger than the top all the way around the quilt. It gives a spot to try the thread and quilting design to check for tension and suitability with no ripping out!
